I asked my friend and Gren Beret Ken Roberts for some advice on how to pick the right carrying system for a 3 gun competition. Practical shooting has become one way for me to get more time on my firing systems while on the move. It is also one hell of a great way to de-stressor your life while hanging out with friends and gaining confidence on the move. So I have been looking at gun belts and carrying systems that would allow me to progress with this training and sport. Well heck, I would be pretty dumb if I didn’t ask our resident professional gunfighter to weigh in on it and it just so happens he and I were taping a segment for NSRI on how to perform a Pre Trip Inspection on a truck before a long trip – and the truck wouldn’t start! Well, while that thing is charging from the jump, it sounds like a perfect opportunity for me to grab some of his 20+ years of knowledge in carrying ammo around for a living and needing to dispatch it in a hurry.
I ‘d be lying if I wasn’t interested in getting back to where I used to be. I have had more guns stolen than most people have in a lifetime. I guess it depends on where I live. Living in Florida, hunting just sucks, but it’s fishing is awesome, but watching for the snakes and gators takes all the fun out of it. Anyway, if I come back to Ohio, I”ll be ready to stock up on some gator, beef, deer, and some pig (aka bacon, sausage, jerky) It would be one huge mess, Thank you
Samuel
I’m going for high powered air rifles, they’re not as powerful as regular firearms but they will do the job. I’m casting my own bullets now, 357 caliber from whatever I can find, old rolls of solder, wheel weights, old lead acid battery plates. Now I’m melting down lead in a cast iron pot on a rocket stove. I’m attempting to simulate a situation where I have no power and I have to rely on my own ability to find resources. I plan to make a YouTube video on it.
I am a 70 year old person. we live in a small townhouse. I have been doing small things around my hose to prepare for anything that will happen in the near future. I have been stock pilling ammo, raised and fortified my back yard fence. I have a generator that will run my whole house. It is hard for me to try and prepare cause I live on a fixed income. My wife is not on the same page as I, which makes it more difficult. I am a Navy veteran. I did a tour in Nam and another conflict Should the shit really hit the fan I will have to hunker down, How best can I do that?
Buddy,
It sounds like you are well on your way! From your time in the service, I am confident you have the mental awareness to deal with defending your own home. I don’t know your situation, health, limitations, and training, but I am putting together more articles on sheltering in place as we walk through each element of preparedness surrounding this. Keep on the basics of hardening your entranceways, and making your house not so attractive to nefarious types of people. Don’t forget your food and water plan and I have done a few posts on that topic in the past and will get into more detail in the next few weeks.
Its all about god guts and guns and the common sence to use it all keep this country safe and strong
