December 29, 2020 by Nick Leave a Comment

If you’ve started to build up your stash of survivalist essentials, that’s great but have you begun to wonder, what you actually need? I mean, really, what do the top Survivalists have themselves?? Or are you at a total loss of where to even start and find yourself with little to no Survival essentials?

Either way, I’m here to help. I’ll give you an inside look at what all preppers say they never want to be caught without. Compare their must-haves to your wishlist and make sure you stock up!

#1 Essential: Food Supply of 2 Weeks
Note that this is per person, not for the entire house! The best way to store 2 weeks of food is by using Freeze Dried baggies stored in water-proof buckets. My recommendation is to use Valley Food Storage Meals as they can last up to 25 years. Now that’s a smart investment if I’ve ever heard one!

#2 Essential: Water Supply of 3 Days
On average, humans use around 100 gallons of water on a typical day. 1 gallon of water should be stored per person, per day. Therefore, an individual will need at least 3 gallons stored for survival needs. Also, this water is not just for drinking, it is also used for sanitation!

#3 Essential: Flash Light, Radio/TV and Batteries
Even with cell phones, it is still recommended to have a traditional flashlight and a radio with enough back up batteries. TV’s are also okay as well, but without a power source, they will not be of much use.

#4 Essential: First Aid Kit
Okay, this one is hopefully a no-brainer. Anything can happen in an emergency, like a cut or a splinter. Having a first aid kit full of bandages, aspirin, tweezers and more.

#5 Essential: Matches in a Waterproof case
Now the waterproof case is the essential piece in this! The matches, of course, will not work when wet. But even after you’ve dried them off, they still will not work. This is because the water breaks down the chemical composition that causes the matches to ignite.

Do you have all of these essentials stored in a safe place? If not, I highly recommend you do, sooner than later. You should always keep yourself and family protected!
